Our Intensive Program Don Quixote is was originally choreographed in 1869 by Marius Petipa as a full-length classical ballet for the Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow, Russia. The main dancing characters are Dulcinea (the ideal woman of whom Don Quixote dreams), and Kitri and Basilio, a romantic couple who end up together with Don Quixote’s help). During SCDA’s summer intensive, dancers will learn the most recognizable variations, pas de deux and group scenes of the ballet. The Don Quixote summer intensive is suitable for serious intermediate to advanced dancers who wish to participate in a summer workshop but who are unable or not ready to participate in a nationally recognized dance intensive.
